It is with great pleasure that I extend a warm welcome to the National Polytechnic Institute of Papua New Guinea. Established under the Education Act (1983) and formally inaugurated by the late Sir Paulias Matane on December 2nd, 2009, our institute stands as a beacon of technical education and skill development in our nation.
Currently undergoing a transitional phase after the NEC Decision No: 25/2017, we are dedicated to realigning our goals and approaches to meet the evolving demands of higher education in Papua New Guinea. This transition, under the oversight of the Department of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (DHERST), aims to unify and elevate our educational standards across the board.
At NPIPNG, we aspire to lead by example, fostering a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that meets national aspirations and industry demands. We are committed to innovation and agility, ensuring our programs remain responsive to the dynamic needs of our society and economy.
Our institute proudly hosts seven academic departments: Business Studies, Tourism and Hospitality, Applied Sciences, Architecture and Building, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Each department plays a crucial role in our mission to deliver high-quality technical education.
